Pictured is an Abraham Records (Canada) self-titled Slim Smith compilation from '84 gathering self-productions recorded during the singers 1971 UK tour, alongside earlier numbers produced by Bunny Lee. One track is an unrelated Andell & Bolivar tune released by Lord Koos. Five of these songs originally appeared in the UK on "The Memory of Slim Smith" LP (Lord Koos, 1974) - https://www.discogs.com/release/4882333-Various-The-Memory-Of-Slim-Smith The collection was packaged in album jackets originally prepared for the U.S. edition of Slim Smith's final album, 1972's "Just A Dream" released in the UK on Trojan. In October of that year Slim would bleed to death after cutting his arms with glass in an unfortunate accident. Coincidentaly, these LP covers were retrieved and used for this release just months after the untimely death of Clocktower Records proprietor Brad Osbourne. The matrix number pressed in the run-out grooves of this album (titled "Slim Smith" on the physical label) is AALP-48 . This mix-up was Alfred Abraham's first appearance on a Clocktower release. A few years later he would go on to actually acquire the Clocktower (and associated labels) catalog and continue to excessively exploit the material for the next four decades! Everyone who owns this LP always wonders "What the heck happened here"? Some people even buy the black cover variation thinking it's just the Pink ones that are mixed up, to only be left disappointed yet again!
